Once upon a time, in a green forest, there lived an ant and a dog. The ant was small but hardworking. Every day, it carried food back to its home to prepare for the rainy season. The dog, on the other hand, was strong and fast. He spent his days playing and resting under the shade of trees.
One sunny day, the ant was busy gathering food near a river. The dog watched the ant and laughed.
“Why do you work so hard, little ant?” asked the dog. “The sun is shining, and there’s plenty of food everywhere. Relax and enjoy like me!”
The ant smiled and said, “I may be small, but I must plan for the future. When the rains come, food will be hard to find.”
The dog shook his head. “That’s silly! There’s always food in the forest.”
Days passed, and soon the rains came. The forest became wet and muddy, and food was no longer easy to find. The dog became hungry. He searched everywhere but found nothing to eat.
One day, the dog saw the ant inside its cozy home. The ant had stored plenty of food and was warm and safe. The dog, cold and tired, called out to the ant.
“Dear ant, I am so hungry. Can you share some food with me?”
The ant felt sorry for the dog and shared its food. But the ant also said, “Now you see why it’s important to work hard and prepare for the future. Next time, don’t wait until it’s too late.”
The dog nodded. “You are right, little ant. From now on, I will work hard like you.”
And so, the dog learned an important lesson. From that day, he worked to prepare for the future and never went hungry again.
